THANK YOU SARAH!

I want to say a huge, THANK YOU to Sarah from Romantic History! She was so generous to send me—free of charge—a beautiful springtime peasant blouse. Please visit her blog and see a picture of it and the other wonderful things that she has!

Since I have been in blog land (something I never thought I would want to do), I have met so many wonderful women—women across the land who have strong desires to teach their children, love their families, and live for what is right. You all boost me up!

And, you’re one of those women, Sarah! Thank you for you generosity!

OF TEACUPS AND TREASURES

A HUGE Thank You is going out to Jan and Tom of Rose Haven! I received, in a give-away, a pretty teacup from them and was SO excited to get it today!

My cup came with a beautifully hand-crafted Rose Haven gift tag…

And…a vintage needle card! Oooo!...What a fun surprise that was!

Thank you so much, Jan and Tom, for your great generosity.

Blessings to you both.

My honey and I went thriftin’ on Saturday. It was such a beautiful day for being out and about.

I found a pair of Naturalizer shoes, which would run between $40 and $65 in the store. Naturalizer is one of the few companies left that still have sizes for the toe and heel of the shoe along with the length. I rarely buy them due to their price. These are in near-perfect condition, and after I have the toe stretched just a bit, they’ll be perfect! They were only $2.00!

I didn’t get a good close-up shot but found some cute orange and yellow flower and heart-shaped buttons. I’ll use these to embellish homemade Mother’s Day cards.

We picked up a nice spread (which is actually a duvet’ cover) for our bed. We paid $5.00

My most fun purchase was a 5-qt. Dutch Oven. For some time, I have wanted to accumulate a large amount of cast iron cookware. I have one skillet that I use almost exclusively, but that is all. I paid more than I would have liked at $12, but once it is cleaned up and reseasoned, it will be fun to cook in!

I LOVE good deals!

MODEST GIVE-AWAY

I have a huge issue when it comes to modesty. The way that women dress and little girls any more, actually enrages me-not just makes me uncomfortable. This rears its ugly head especially in the summertime, and any male with any amount of testoserone is then tempted to look at what is in front of them. This includes men that are trying to be righteous. This includes single men, and this includes our husbands! It's pretty difficult not to see it even if you're not trying. This is Satan at his best.

Along these lines, I found a wonderful site last year. Crystal specializes in and designs and sews modest swim wear. I bought a suit from her and love it. I felt so comfortable around family and didn't get stares at the pool--well if I did, it was because I was the odd man out! I would encourage all of you to check out Simply Modest. Along with being modest, her suits are also very comfortable. The patterns that she chooses also lend to their modesty. For the first time, due to the pretty prints and the overall design of the swim wear, I wasn't noticing everyone staring at my chest.

Also, please visit Joy right away at The Stay-At-Home Missionary for Modest Fashion Week and a give-away Saturday! She has a whole week's worth of posts on modesty. Enjoy!

CLEAN SWAP GOODIES

My Clean Swap partner was Melissa, and what fun it was to await the arrival of this box! I don't even know her blog's name but do know that she is a good friend of Monica.

This is what Melissa sent me.

My least favorite household task is cleaning the bathroom, so she sent me rubber gloves and two different kinds of wipes! One is a purse-sized Clorox brand--I like the clean smell of bleach. These are so convenient for quick wipe-downs.

My most favorite household task is tidying and organizing a room and then creating an ambiance using pretty candles. Melissa sent me LOADS of candles (you can't see them all) and an organizer notebook made from 70% recyclable paper, as she put it, "To keep our Earth clean!"

I got a green pack of Orbit gum for a clean mouth. How did she know that Spearmint is my favorite flavor and that I had just given my last piece of gum away the day before!

These goodies were all packaged in a plastic storage box and came with a lovely note describing my treats and a final thought to "Create in me a clean heart, O God."

Thank you so much, Melissa! God bless you. :)
